During the meeting, we will be welcoming two presentations from the US Forest Service’s Community Forest Research Team. Both presentations will discuss where community members directly engage in the management process of these properties.
Kathleen McGinley, USFS, will present on “Community Engagement with Community Forests Under Different Ownership Models in the U.S. ”
Lauren McCaskill, Whidbey Camano Land Trust, share a presentation titled “Equity in Access to Community Forest Benefits and Decision Making Processes”
The meeting will also highlight the Washington RCO Community Forest Program, and ongoing advocacy efforts which are taking place by coalition partner, Washington Association of Land Trusts.
