Video: Teanaway Community Forest

Purchased in 2013, the Teanaway Community Forest is Washington’s first state-owned community forest. Covering 50,241 acres, this property was purchased through the 2013 “Yakima River Basin Resource Management” law, which states that the management plan, “must ensure that the lad is managed in a manner that is consistent with the Yakima Basin Integrated Plan Principles for forest land acquisitions”.

Watch the video below to learn more about the value of the Teanaway Community Forest from the perspective of local businesses, non-profits, and residents, as well as advisory committee members, Yakama Nation Fisheries, and the Commissioner of Public Lands, Hilary Franz.
