On August 15, from 11:00 am - 12:30 pm, the Northwest Community Forest will be hosting our Summer Quarterly Meeting, this meeting will cover aspects of Public Access and Recreation Planning. The Agenda Includes:
National Parks Service’s - Rivers Trails and Conservation Assistance Team
NPS - RTCA discuss the planning process around community engagement, and how their program works with various community forests.
Jefferson Land Trust & the Planning Process for Chimacum Ridge and Valley View Forest.
Jefferson Land Trust engaged a number of partners through the planning process for the Chimacum Ridge Property.
Wallowa East Moraine Community Forest & how to balance ongoing property usage with increased recreational usage.
The East Moraine Community Forest came together through 10+ years of planning and engagement with local community members and partners.
Community Forests, like the Teanaway Community Forest (pictured left), utilize collaborative engagement with partners and support from Washington DNR to balance recreational access among other priorities.
